With the main clubhouse, extensive boatyard with new lift and moorings on the river adur, along with the original clubhouse and locked moorings within Shoreham Port, SYC is first and foremost a members club with unrivalled facilities. Yachts of all sizes call the club home, with both rallying and racing strongly supported, as is the dinghy section where particular attention is given to encouraging youth sailors. The club has a thriving diving section and is home to Sussex Sailability, supporting handicapped sailors of all abilities. SYC also boasts a bar and steward famous for hospitality on both sides of the channel, along with a recently relaunched restaurant enjoying the best river views in Shoreham.

February's Quiz NightThu 9 February February's Quiz will be held on Thursday 9th February, 1930 hours. Teams of up to 4 players. Cash prizes to be won. Cooler Series 2012Click here for Cooler results. COOLER 1 The first Cooler Race got off to a excellent start with nineteen boats competing, in light winds on the Southwick canal which made for very tricky tactical racing. The start line was positioned at the far end of the green, giving a tight line and a beat to the first mark, it was critical to get a good start an then pull into clear air, avoiding the wind shadow of the other boats, having done this maintaining a good position with varying light wind, was essential once the windward mark was rounded.
Club NightFri 2 March As always Club Night is about getting together with our friends to chat, make the most of Ho's hospitality and to cheer as the famous (infamous?) raffle gets under way. Chef Simon will again present and excellent menu for Club night which we'll publicise once he's made his mind up.
Solent RallyFri 4 May to Mon 7 May One of the clubs most well attended rallies this year falls over the early May Bank Holiday and begins with the customary race from Shoreham to Portsmouth for an overnight stop at Gosport Marina, sailing on the Saturday to Shamrock Quay, Southampton ('In-Solent' Race optional) for our organised rally meal. The final destination is a sail to Southsea Marina on the Sunday, followed by a leisurely return to Shoreham on the Bank Holiday Monday. Rally Secretary Rose Pryke has been hard at work and has prepared a brilliant program for the rally which can be downloaded as a PDF right here >> Rampion Windfarm

John Bull Trophy 2011What an excellent end to the year. We sailed the John Bull Trophy as it is meant to be sailed, either on a Boxing Day or New Year's Day tide dependent.
