Autumn Series 2013

With seventeen yachts on the starting line on Sunday 15 September this was the largest fleet of the season to come under the starting orders of OOD Neil Prescott. It was just a shame that the forecast light airs turned into no airs towards the end of the shortened course.

With less than a knot of air inshore to work with, the leading boats stopped whilst the rest of the fleet caught up. Close to the shore the pain was immense as the closely bunched main group inched over the line to finish. Special mention must go to Doug Beanlands and The Italian Job who got away with a half mile lead over everybody for most of the race, only to lose it all when the wind died.
