Sunday Lunch At Sussex Yacht ClubThe restaurant is run by the yacht club under the direction of our Club Steward Natalie Brett Stansell. Chef Marrianne and her floor staff are tasked with delivering members the best possible food at reasonable prices. We are also pleased to inform members that we can take payment over the bar using all the main credit and debit cards.

In addition to the very popular traditional Sunday lunchtime service, there is also a light lunchtime menu featuring great dishes at amazing member only prices - take a look below at the latest menu (updated March 2018).

SYC Gourmet BurgerLight Lunches

Served weekdays 12:00-14:00 and Saturdays 12:00-16:00

  • Soup of the day £4.00
    A delicious, hearty bowl of homemade soup, served with bread and butter.

  • Freshly made baguettes/sandwiches with side salad £4.00
    Tuna Mayonnaise, Brie and Cranberry, Cheese and Onion, Chicken and Bacon, Ham and Cheese or Prawn Marie Rose or Sausage and Pickle (Add a portion of French Fries for £1.25).

  • Toasted Sandwiches also available £4.00
  • Jacket potato with a salad garnish £5.00
    Tuna Mayonnaise, Cheese and Onion, Chicken and Bacon, Ham and Cheese, Prawn Marie Rose (25p supplement) or Baked Beans. Additional toppings 50p.

  • Old Mill Farm Ham, Egg and Chips £5.50
    Delicious honey glazed Wiltshire ham and seasoned chips served with two fried eggs, fine Piccalilli and a light side salad.

  • North East Atlantic Whole-Tail Scampi £6.50
    Breaded Scampi Tails, seasoned hand cut chips and Tartar Sauce served with a light side salad and lemon wedge.

  • Sausage, Egg and chips £5.50

         3 large Cumberland sausage, chips and 2 eggs, add beans for an additional 50p

  • Bubble & Squeak £5.50

          Homemade bubble and squeak served with 2 fried eggs, cold met and piccalilli.

  • All Day Breakfast £5.50

          2 sausages, hash brown, 2 eggs, 1 bacon served with a slice of bread and butter, add a portion of beans for 50p.

  • Cheese and Ham Omelette £5.50

          3 Egg Omelette with Cheese and Ham served with Salad and Chips 

  • Thai Green Chicken Curry £6

           Authentic Thai Green Curry served with Jasmine Rice and Spicy Prawn Crackers

  • Potato Skins £5

           Filled with Chilli and Cheese, Ham and Cheese or Prawn Marie Rose served with homemade Coleslaw and Salad

  • Beer Battered Cod & Chip
    Crispy, beer-battered cod served with chips and a portion of buttered petit-pois.
  • Children's Chicken and Chips £3.50
    Breaded Chicken fillets, served with a portion of chips and a ramekin of petit-pois.

  • Children's Battered Cod Goujons and Chips £3.50

For each function the Chef and Steward usually sets a themed menu designed to suit most tastes, but please remember that if the planned fare does not suit, then please let them know in reasonable time (a couple of days before would be great) so they can provide alternative.

WiFi Access

The Club has a dedicated WiFi network with internet access for Members and Guests. Ask at the Office or Bar for the access codes. 

Free Birthday Lunch

happy-birthday-cupcakeMembers with birthdays receive a letter from the office entitling them to a free Sunday lunch! All you need do to qualify is to book a table for a minimum of four people and let us know. The birthday boy/girl will also receive £5 wine voucher, and this great offer from the Steward is valid for the entire birthday month.


The bar could be described as the heart and soul of our club. Without exception this is where members come together, be it for joyous celebration, official pomp, sombre reflection or just a quiet pint with friends, we all gravitate towards the familiar comfort and warm welcome from the bar team.

The bar and lounge at SYC was subject to a comprehensive refurbishment in 2015 and the Bar Manager Em has a well deserved reputation for delivering an excellent and varied selection of locally brewed cask ales. The line up changes regularly, showcasing the very best from local brewers both large and small.

Regular faces can be found at the bar most lunchtimes and is open according to the following schedule (revised 1 July 2015): 

  • Monday to Saturday 12:00 to 23:00
  • Sunday (and Bank holidays) 12:00 to 22:00
  • Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day evening and New Years Day.

It should be noted that if nobody attends the bar for a whole hour during these opening times then the Steward may close the bar for the evening.

Members involved in regular activities such as the dinghy sailing at Southwick during the week who want to make sure they remain open should give the bar a ring on 01273 453717 to let them know they are on their way.

Sunday Lunch DSC5150Sunday lunch at SYC has become hugely popular and we often dine large family groups who want to enjoy a proper Sunday roast without Mum having to do all the work.

We strive to serve lunch every Sunday with special effort being made to make Mothering Sunday and Fathers Day etc. a special treat.
