The Fleet is Building for the Royal Escape Race 2026

Entries for the Royal Escape Race 2026 have been steadily coming in since December, and the momentum is really starting to build for what promises to be a fantastic event.

Set for 22–23 May 2026, this much-loved offshore race from Brighton to Fécamp offers a brilliant mix of challenge, history, and camaraderie. Whether you’ve raced before or are thinking about entering for the first time, now is a great moment to get involved.

A fleet that’s already taking shape

The entry list is beginning to fill, and it’s great to see such a varied mix of boats and crews signing up early. We’re seeing entries from all along the South Coast, with a real blend of experienced racers and enthusiastic newcomers.

That variety is what makes the Royal Escape Race special. It’s competitive, yes—but it’s also welcoming, social, and full of character. And as the list grows, don’t be surprised if a few familiar (and possibly legendary) sailing names start to appear.

Not racing? Come along anyway

You don’t have to be on the start line to be part of it.

The Supporters Cruise continues to grow year on year and is once again shaping up to be a big part of the 2026 event. It’s a great option for those who want to follow the fleet across the Channel, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy the celebrations in Fécamp—just at a slightly more relaxed pace.

Friends, family, club members—everyone’s welcome. It all adds to the buzz of the weekend.

Keep an eye on the Notice Board

As always, the Race Notice Board is where everything comes together in the lead-up to the event.

It’s worth checking in regularly, as this is where you’ll find:

  • The Notice of Race
  • Sailing Instructions
  • The Sailing’s Got Talent entry form
  • Updates and announcements
  • Details on how to get your Royal Escape Race Musto polo shirt

If you’re racing (or even just following along), it’s the best way to stay in the loop.

More than just a crossing

What keeps people coming back to the Royal Escape Race isn’t just the sailing—it’s the whole experience. The shared challenge of the crossing, the welcome in Fécamp, and the social side of the weekend all make it something a bit special.

It’s competitive when it needs to be, but it never loses that friendly, inclusive feel.

Ready to join?

With entries open and the fleet already growing, now’s the time to get your place secured.

Take a look at the race page, keep an eye on the entry list, and start planning your weekend.
