Sussex Yacht Club Limited is a company incorporated and registered in England & Wales (Reg:215905).

We are registered with the Information Commissioners Office (“ICO”) with the registration number Z6538012.

What data do we collect and hold? 

When joining as a member or conducting business with our organisation we will need to collect information from you in order to provide you with our services.

The categories of your personal data that we may collect includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Contact details (including names, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers) ;
Professional information such as company name and number of employees;
Details of your visits to this web site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data.

If you contact Sussex Yacht Club Limited through this website we may ask you for basic information.

Where is your data held?

We store your private information in both electronic and paper form. All information is kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR at our offices and access to your information is restricted to senior professional staff and properly authorised officers of the club.

Data collected from you when completing and submitting a website enquiry form is sent electronically and is also retained for a time on webservers which are in secure locations within the UK.

What do we do with that information?

We may use the personal information gathered in our normal course of business as follows:

  • To confirm identification when you contact us.
  • To provide you with information related to membership and or our services and our events and activities that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, provided you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
  • For purposes necessary for the performance of our contract with you and to comply with any legal obligations.
  • For the purposes of our own legitimate interests provided that those interests do not override any of your own interests, rights and freedoms which require the protection of personal data. This includes processing for marketing, business development, statistical and management purposes.

Lawful basis for processing
