Just Over a Month to Go: The Royal Escape Race 2026 is Nearly Here
With just over a month to go until the Royal Escape Race 2026, the countdown is well and truly on.
Taking place on 22–23 May 2026, this iconic offshore race from Brighton to Fécamp is fast approaching, and anticipation is building across the South Coast with great thanks given to our main sponsors for this years race Bishop Skinner Marine.
Whether you’re already entered or still considering joining the fleet, now is the time to start preparing for what promises to be another memorable edition.
The fleet is growing
The entry list continues to build, with a strong mix of boats and crews already confirmed. From seasoned offshore racers to those taking on their first Channel crossing, the Royal Escape Race continues to attract a wide and welcoming fleet.
With entries coming from clubs across the South Coast and beyond, the diversity of the fleet is once again shaping up to be one of the highlights of the event.
And with more boats expected to sign up in the coming weeks, the start line in Brighton is set to be an exciting one.
More than just a race
The Royal Escape Race is not just about competition—it’s about the full experience.
From the buzz of race preparations in Brighton to the challenge of the 66.5 nautical mile crossing and the warm welcome awaiting in Fécamp, the event combines history, adventure, and a great social atmosphere at Societe des Regates de Fecamp
It’s this unique blend that keeps sailors coming back year after year!
The Supporters Cruise returns
Alongside the racing fleet, the Supporters Cruise is once again gathering momentum.
Open to powerboats and cruising yachts capable of making the Channel crossing, it offers a fantastic way to be part of the event—following the fleet to Fécamp and enjoying the shoreside celebrations.
It’s a great option for friends, family, and anyone who wants to be involved in the weekend without racing.
Time to get ready
With the race now just weeks away, it’s important to make sure everything is in place.
Competitors should keep a close eye on the Race Notice Board, where you’ll find key documents such as the Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions, and event updates.
It’s also a good time to finalise your crew, check your paperwork, and make sure your boat is fully prepared for the crossing.
Still time to enter
There’s still time to be part of the Royal Escape Race 2026.
If you’ve been thinking about entering, don’t leave it too late—secure your place, join a growing fleet, and get ready for a fantastic weekend on the water.
